Romerikslaget i Amerika is a Norwegian-American association whose members have ancestral roots or present-day ties to the area that nearly surrounds Oslo, Norway, called Romerike. The Lag (association) was founded in September 1990 to honor the unique culture of Romerike and to strengthen the bonds with the parishes of our ancestors. Since then we have come together in September or October for our festive annual stevne (gathering) which is held at varying locations in the Midwest. At the stevne, we enjoy a rich combination of presentation, films, music, and traditional foods. The stevne also gives us the opportunity to explore our roots. It is a good place for both beginning and experienced genealogists.
